I’m currently a freelance web designer with eight years of in-house experience. My goal at present is to further my knowledge of UX/UI design to focus more on user-centered solutions in order to champion for and provide better experiences.
About me
I graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Information Technology. The degree covered a wide variety of different technologies and mediums relating to design, but students were required to pick a specific focus area to master.
When I chose web design, it was because I loved the idea of being able to create something from nothing - the transition of code to design was fascinating to me.
However, it was in my current role when I had the opportunity to collaborate and learn from UX designers that my passion began to evolve. My mindset behind developing design solutions quickly changed; I realized the importance of addressing user pain points, making sure designs are usable by all, and asking for feedback to continuously improve.
Currently, I am learning more about the design thinking process and how to expand my perspective to be even more user-centered. I look forward to applying all of this knowledge into whatever project I tackle next.
